Can I take High Fibre Plus daily?
High Fibre Plus is totally safe for daily consumption. Formulated to complement your existing fibre intake, one serving provides 6g of fibre from seven different plant sources. You can take it at any time that suits - morning, lunch, or in the afternoon - alongside a consistent and varied diet of dietary fibres from other sources and plenty of water.
Is High Fibre Plus suitable for the whole family?
Yes, it is suitable for all life stages, from the age of four upwards. All of our ingredients have been scientifically shown to be safe and well-tolerated, while the organic ginger and seaweed-derived calcium provide additional nutrients for the whole family. As always, we recommend booking a free one-to-one so we can provide tailored nutritional lifestyle support and review dosages depending on ages and needs.
Is High Fibre plus safe to consume during pregnancy and while breastfeeding?
Yes, it is. The carefully selected dietary fibres within High Fibre Plus have a slow fermentation profile and are scientifically proven to be well-tolerated. The wide array of ingredients provides additional vitamins and minerals, particularly helpful at this time. Ginger is a revered Ayurvedic botanical used safely over millennia, while Calcium provides added support for bones, energy and digestion.
Is High Fibre Plus suitable for vegans and vegetarians?
Yes, it is.
Is High Fibre Plus suitable for those with wheat or gluten intolerances?
Yes, it is. High Fibre Plus contains no added gluten or wheat. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to book a free 15-minute check-in with our expert team of nutritional therapists.
Can High Fibre Plus contribute to any side effects, such as bloating and digestive discomfort?
High Fibre Plus has been formulated for those with digestive sensitivities or concerns in mind, and hero ingredients NatureKnit® and Sunfiber® are both low FODMAP certified. The slow fermentation profile of the ingredients means that it’s unlikely to cause bloating or discomfort. However, if your current fibre intake is low, we recommend increasing your fluid intake and starting with half the daily serving until your body adjusts.
Is this suitable to take if I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)?
Sunfiber® has been certified low FODMAP, while NatureKnit®, Aquamin® Calcium and the organic ginger are all suitable for anyone on a low FODMAP diet. As individual responses may vary, and IBS can present differently from one person to the next, we recommend that you book a free nutritional one-to-one for tailored guidance.
Is High Fibre Plus made from sustainable ingredients?
Yes, it is. NatureKnit® is a blend of upcycled dietary fibres from apples, carrots, blueberries, cranberries and spinach. The seaweed that provides Calcium is sustainably harvested from the pristine waters of Iceland, while Sunfiber® and organic ginger are sustainably harvested in India.
Is High Fibre Plus organic?
No. While we try to only ever source organic ingredients, it’s not always possible, either due to a lack of reliable or high-quality options or scientific research and evidence. Only the ginger root powder is organic in this formulation; however, all ingredients are of the highest quality and comply with strict sustainability standards.
Does High Fibre Plus provide soluble and insoluble fibres?
Yes, it does. NatureKnit® is a source of both soluble and insoluble fibre, while Sunfiber® provides soluble fibre that’s also fermentable.
What is the difference between soluble and insoluble fibre?
Both types are important to health and are generally present in whole foods. Soluble fibre dissolves in water to form a gel or viscous substance in the gut, slowing digestion, which helps moderate blood sugar spikes after eating, lowering LDL cholesterol (the less healthy levels of cholesterol), and feeding beneficial gut bacteria. Sources include oats, barley, beans, fruits and vegetables. Insoluble fibre, however, passes through the gut largely intact, adding bulk to stool and speeding transit. It has less of a ‘prebiotic’ effect than soluble fibre, but is important for regularity and colon health. Sources include whole grain rice, wheat bran, quinoa, leafy vegetables and skin-on fruits.
What are fermentable fibres?
Fermentable fibres are soluble fibres, like guar gum and resistant starch, which feed our beneficial gut bacteria in the large intestine. These are broken down by beneficial bacteria to produce short-chain fatty acids, also known as ‘post-biotics’, which have been widely researched for their impact on heart health, inflammation, blood sugar management, and much more. This means that the health of your gut and whole body depends on consuming a wide variety of fibres from a diverse range of sources.
What does PHGG stand for?
PHGG stands for partially hydrolysed guar gum. Guar fibre is a soluble dietary fibre made from fermented guar gum beans. The beans undergo a process of hydrolysis, a process that breaks down the guar gum into smaller units, greatly decreasing its viscosity, while maintaining the original fibre content and its beneficial properties.
How is Sunfiber® PHGG different from guar gum used in the food industry?
Guar gum is a water-soluble carbohydrate derived from the guar plant seed, which is sometimes used for its superior thickening, gelling, emulsifying, and stabilising properties due to its high viscosity. Although Sunfiber® originates from the same plant, it is totally different, with low viscosity, is certified non-GMO project verified, and third-party tested for purity, contaminants and heavy metals.
Are the ingredients in High Fibre Plus third-party tested?
Yes, while the end formula isn’t, all of the individual ingredients have been third-party tested for purity, heavy metals and contaminants.
What type of Magnesium is this?
Our Magnesium is Food-Grown®, meaning that it is easily absorbed, kinder to your digestive system and better used by your body.
Can I take this alongside other products in your range containing Magnesium?
Many of us don’t obtain sufficient Magnesium from our daily diets, as factors like medication, stress, and contemporary lifestyles can often lead to its depletion. Soil also often lacks adequate levels, which means the quantities present in our other supplements make them safe to combine.
When is the best time to take Magnesium?
Magnesium can be taken at any time of day to replenish your nutrient levels; the ideal time depends on the specific support you need. For personal advice, book your free 15-minute consultation with our expert nutritional team.
Will Magnesium affect my digestion?
Digestive upsets often depend on the form of Magnesium and the individual's responses. Food Grown® Magnesium is a form that’s close to that found in nature and is free of unnecessary additives, making it kinder to digestion.
Is this product suitable for use during preconception, pregnancy, or breastfeeding?
Yes, our Magnesium is safe to use during all these stages. As it supports the nervous system, it can have a calming effect, making it ideal if you’re trying to conceive. It can even be helpful when you’re sharing your Magnesium levels in gestation or when you need more energy to produce breast milk, and can be a wonderful balancing aid when you’re feeling frazzled, caring for a newborn.
Who can benefit from taking Magnesium?
Magnesium is important for normal muscle function, reducing tiredness and fatigue, and maintaining electrolyte balance, making it a prime mineral if you’re regularly physically active. Teens and women with a menstrual cycle should also consider supplementing with extra Magnesium during and after their period to ensure adequate levels.
