STUDY 1

Mohta, A. et al. (2025). Efficacy and safety of Mesoporosil treatment in enhancing skin firmness, hydration, and elasticity: An 84-day clinical trial. CosmoDerma, 5:33.

How was it conducted?

  • 22 women aged 40–66 with moderate to severe facial ageing and dry skin participated, all completing the study in full.
  • Each received a daily oral intake of one tablet containing 14 mg of silicon (as Mesoporosil®) for 84 days.
  • Evaluations were conducted at baseline, days 28, 56, and 84 using a 24-item questionnaire. 

 

What benefits were they seeking?

The research aimed to determine whether supplementing with Mesoporosil® could improve skin firmness, hydration, elasticity and radiance over the 84 days.

 

What did they find?

After only two months (48 days), not only were no adverse events or discomforts reported, but over 65% of participants confirmed improvements in elasticity, complexion and nail growth:

  • 68% saw an improved complexion
  • 68% could see improvements in elasticity
  • 65% saw improved nail growth
  • And all participants reported noticeable improvements in skin firmness and hydration, resulting in a plump and youthful appearance.





STUDY 2

Arpino, L., Morelli, L. and Vitiello, V., (2023). Nutraceutical supplementation with a combination of bio-activated silicon, vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 in patients with ‘minor’ vertebral fractures. Pharmanutrition and Functional Foods.

How was it conducted?

  • 72 patients (men and women) took part, aged between 50 and 75, and all with a recent minor vertebral compression fracture diagnosis. 69 of the 72 completed the study in full (95.8% retention rate). 
  • Over six months, each received an oral supplementation of bioactivated Silicon, Vitamin D3 (2000 IU) and Vitamin K2 (MK-7, 100 mcg)
  • Assessments were carried out at baseline, and the 3- and 6-month marks – using a combination of radiographic analysis, bone density measurements, pain scales (VAS), and functional mobility scoring.

 

What benefits were they seeking?

As these ingredients are known to support bone density, healing, and overall skeletal integrity, the scientific study investigated the impact of a nutraceutical supplement combining the three. The research aimed to evaluate improvements in bone pain, mobility, and vertebral stability.

 

What did they find?

Over 80% of the users studied found the supplement easy to take with no adverse side effects and with notable improvements experienced across:

  • 41% reported significant pain reduction by month 3
  • 66% saw marked or complete back pain relief at month 6.

And by month 6:

  • 72% reported better ease of daily movement (e.g., walking, bending)
  • 58% of participants saw improved functional mobility
  • And as for bone density, radiological improvements were noted in 47% of participants (evidence of vertebral consolidation).
  • While 38% of patients vs. only 12% in historical control groups experienced increased bone density scores.
