Red yeast rice (Monascus purpureaus) has been used for centuries in China as a medicinal product. Red yeast rice is a substance that is extracted from rice that has been fermented with a type of yeast called Monascus purpureus. Our high quality Red Yeast Rice provides a minimum 1.6% of Monacolin K for the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. Additional properties naturally found within red yeast rice include flavonoids, fatty acids and sterols combined with 20mg of Food-Grown® CoEnzyme Q10. Body storage of coenzyme Q10 is most dense within the heart tissue.
